Introduction-Purpose of This Blog

I like to think that life is an adventure worth truly living in to and this blog is to celebrate life in our own ways, however you feel.

There is a book called A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller and in it he begins by saying that he thinks of his life as a movie and wonders if when the credits roll it will be remembered or will it just be another film in a pile of thousands. He also paints this picture of the moment he meets God face to face and God sits down with him (I like to imagine over coffee) to chat about life. God prefers the role of listener I imagine and Don tells God all of his favorite parts as God just sits there smiling with nodding of God's head to affirm that God too enjoyed those moments since they lived them together. Don's question for the rest of the book is something to the effect of, when my life is done with here on earth and I sit down to tell God my favorite parts, will I have much to say? Will my life have been rich in memories and adventure or will I have squandered it away?

There are countless sites out there where people focus on the negative in life. While sites like fmylife.com and textsfromlastnight.com may be humorous, in many cases they are made up of a collection of short individual anecdotes, often about the negatives in life. There are sites out there that focus on the positives in a similar fashion, particularly givesmehope.com which I recommend checking out. This is a blog, not a fancy site by any means, but I wanted to create a space where people can submit their stories to offer encouragement in life. While many think about starting a blog, there is a lot of pressure to keep coming up with things to say sometimes and so this blog is for you, those who may just want to submit something every so often or regularly but are afraid to start a blog of your own.

The way I find it easiest to write this kind of thing is to think of it as a letter to God. "Dear God, It's Matt, Bethany, Robert, etc." You certainly don't have to hold to that format but it might help.

Please feel free to submit anything you might want put up on the blog to my email...
